How a small UK team builds and operates four products
Conventional wisdom says a small team should build one thing and focus. Tobistech operates four products - Nurelium Health, Scorevance, Tracom and BibleHabit - across four very different markets. That only works because of a deliberate choice made early: the products share a foundation, not just a logo.
One foundation, four fronts
Every Tobistech product ships on the same core: shared AI infrastructure, data pipelines, authentication, payments and release tooling that have already been proven in production. When a new product starts, it doesn't start from zero - it starts from a platform that's been battle-tested by its siblings. The team's effort goes into what makes each product different, not into rebuilding what they have in common.
One app, one audience
The flip side of shared infrastructure is sharply separated identities. A football fan using Scorevance and a trader using Tracom are different people with different expectations, so each product keeps its own brand, its own voice and its own roadmap. General-purpose apps compete with everyone; focused apps only have to be the best thing for one type of person.
What running four products teaches you
- Operational lessons compound: a monitoring fix for one app protects all four.
- Markets de-risk each other: a slow month in one vertical doesn't stall the company.
- Patterns transfer: engagement mechanics proven in BibleHabit inform retention work everywhere else.
- Constraints force ruthless prioritisation - there's no headcount for features that don't matter.
The studio side
The same foundation powers Tobistech Studio, where we selectively partner with businesses to build their software. Partners get infrastructure and product judgement that four live products have already stress-tested - which is a very different proposition from an agency starting from a blank page.
